What Do You Believe?

Several years ago, before I was really into watching movies and such with a Metaphysical point of view, I watched a movie called, “The Skeleton Key.”

Some might call it a horror film but it was more of a supernatural suspense or thriller. Without giving any spoilers, the main point of the movie was the idea that the “magic” could not affect a person until they believed in the magic!

I remember wondering about that idea as it pertained to the first, second, or third time I saw a “ghost” or “spirit.”

I vividly recall the circumstances and the feeling that I had when I saw these images and the actual interaction that I had with them and them with me.

Did I see them because at that time I believed in ghosts and evil spirits?

If so, what else have I seen or experienced solely because my belief made it so?

In the film, “What the Bleep” there is a story about a Shaman staring out at the ocean because he noticed the water patterns indicating something what there but he could not see anything. And so he stayed there looking, opening his mind until he could see an armada of ships. The point was that having never seen ships such as these, his mind had no point of reference to believe in them and thus no way of seeing them. It wasn’t until he, as a medicine man, opened his mind to the possibility that he could then see what was making the water react as it was.

Knowing that the mind is very powerful, I often wonder what are we truly capable of creating as a collective species of humans? Are you familiar with Star Trek? Have you ever noticed that many of the "inventions" from the TV show have been or are actually things we utilize in our daily lives? How Science Fiction has become Fact? Take the following examples in case you have no idea what I am referring to... I know some of you are not Trekkies (LLAP) The Star Trek Communicator
