"What's the Rush?"

Whether it's people driving on the highway or neighborhood street, people rushing to get through a store or get in line, rushing to get to the parking garage and get to the subway, or any number of other things, people seem to be in a hurry. Have you ever looked around at folks and wondered what’s the big hurry? Are you one of those folks? What is the big hurry? Why are so many of us in a rush to burn the candle from both ends? We are in a hurry to get from point A to point B but there is no emergency, or urgent reason other than in our own heads. What would happen if more of us took the time to take our time? Simply slow down. Brush our teeth slower. Prepare dinner slower. Make love slower. Read slower. Walk slower. Simply slow down at least once per day and be present. Amazing things begin to occur when we take our time in this way. Nothing major, simply select one thing that we have the tendency to rush to get done and do it purposefully, consciously, mindfully, and slowly. And see the expanse of time and space open for you!

Affirmation:I am that which is infinite and beyond time, so I have no need to rush. I take my time with focus and intention and what is mine to do gets done! “Sometimes I think there are only two instructions we need to follow to develop and deepen our spiritual life: slow down and let go.”  ― Oriah Mountain Dreamer, The Dance: Moving To the Rhythms of Your True Self

“Go for a walk outdoors. Reconnect with the feeling of the wind blowing through your hair. Listen to the birds that live in a tree in your yard. Watch the sunset. Take time to smell the flowers that bloom in the park during the summer. The natural world is just as natural as it ever was, except there's less of it than there was twenty-five years ago - and most of us don't make a point of enjoying it often enough.”  ― Skye Alexander, The Modern Guide to Witchcraft: Your Complete Guide to Witches, Covens, and Spells “For fast-acting relief, try slowing down.”  ― Lily Tomlin “Being in a hurry does not slow down time.”  ― Mokokoma Mokhonoana “But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” ~Isaiah 40:31
